Delivered our load yesterday morning, made a short deadhead, and got loaded right back up! 🚛💨 Headed to the Midwest—Illinois, here we come! Keeping the truck moving and making every mile count.
Somebody asked, “Did y’all strike?”
No, we didn’t! And before anybody gets started, that doesn’t mean we think everything in trucking is fine. We feel these expenses every time we fuel up, pay insurance, handle maintenance, and look at what’s left after delivering a load. 💯
Do we need to come together in some capacity? Absolutely! But I don’t believe striking alone will solve what we’re dealing with. What’s the plan? What specifically are we asking to change? Who’s taking those concerns to the people who can actually address them? And what happens when everybody starts their trucks back up?
Coming together has to go beyond a post telling everybody to park. We need clear goals, consistent participation, and follow-through. We need conversations about fair pay, payment delays, detention, operating costs, fraud, and accountability across this industry.
We also need to share useful information, understand our own numbers, build relationships, and stop tearing each other down every time somebody makes a different business decision. You cannot ask for unity while attacking the next carrier for trying to keep their business afloat.
Everybody’s financial situation is different. Some can afford to sit. Others are one missed payment away from losing the truck they worked hard to get. That reality deserves some respect.
I’m open to being part of an organized effort with a clear purpose and a realistic plan. But parking our truck without knowing what we’re working toward isn’t a decision we’re making.
For now, we’re loaded, headed to Illinois, and handling business. 🚛💪🏽
