Can we talk about fall in Europe?

The summer crowds begin to thin, the temperatures cool down, and suddenly lingering over lunch or wandering through a city with nowhere to be feels even better.

Italy, France, Spain, Portugal, I love them all this time of year.

If Europe has been calling, fall might just be my favorite time to answer.

What started years ago as “Mom Camp” has officially grown up.

It’s time for a new chapter.

Introducing The Ladies Who ROAM.

This January, we’re heading to Atelier Playa Mujeres for a few days of sunshine, great food, cocktails, laughter and plenty of time to relax.

Come with a friend or come on your own. One thing I’ve learned after years of these trips, we never leave as strangers.

January 21-25, 2027 | Playa Mujeres, Mexico

The hotel matters more than people think.

I often hear, “We’re barely going to be in the room.”

But then you wake up to a view like this.

The right hotel can completely change how a destination feels. It doesn’t have to be the most expensive hotel. It just needs to be the right one.

This was my room in Turkey, and I still remember that view.

Exactly 30 years ago today, I began my career in the travel industry. I had no idea then where it would take me, both literally and figuratively.

For three decades, I’ve had the privilege of building a career I truly love, traveling the world, creating incredible relationships, and helping so many wonderful clients experience it for themselves.

Those 30 years gave me the experience, relationships and confidence to take this next step.

So today, on the exact date my travel career began 30 years ago, I’m betting on myself.

I’m so excited to officially introduce ROAM by Julie.

The name may be new, but the passion behind it isn’t. I’ll continue doing what I’ve always loved most, creating thoughtful, personalized trips and taking care of all the details along the way.

It feels pretty special to begin this new chapter on the exact day the first one started.

Here’s to new beginnings and wherever we ROAM next. ✈️

I’d love for you to follow along on Instagram at .

Thinking about a winter escape? Cabo should be on your radar.

February is one of my favorite times to visit. The weather is beautiful, the skies are sunny, and it’s peak whale-watching season.

There’s something pretty incredible about sitting by the pool or having breakfast overlooking the Sea of Cortez and spotting whales in the distance.

And if February Cabo sounds good right now, this is the time to start planning it.

Italy isn’t one destination. It’s dozens of completely different trips.

Where you go depends on the Italy you’re dreaming about.

For the water + coast

Taormina for Sicilian charm, energy and beach clubs. Cala dell’Acquaviva for crystal-clear swimming. Porto Miggiano for turquoise water and rocky coves. Favignana for island vibes and incredible water. Positano for iconic Amalfi Coast beauty. Atrani for tiny village charm and coastal views.

For the cities + history

Rome for food, piazzas and layers of history. Venice for architecture and old-world magic. Matera for ancient caves and dramatic scenery.

For quintessential Italian charm

Tuscany for countryside, pasta and a slower pace. Lake Como for glamorous lake views. Portofino for colorful Italian Riviera charm. Alberobello for its fairytale trulli houses.

There isn’t one “best” place to visit in Italy. There’s the place that best fits the trip you want to take.

August travel gets a bad rap.

It’s hot. It’s busy. Prices can be high. But August can also be an incredible month to travel, you just have to know where to go.

Three destinations I love for August:

Iceland
Long daylight hours, waterfalls, hiking and one of the best times of year for a road trip.

Bali
Dry season brings sunny days and lower humidity, perfect for combining Ubud, the beaches and a little island time.

Peru
Dry season in the Andes makes August a great time for Machu Picchu, the Sacred Valley and Cusco.

Sometimes the secret isn’t changing when you travel. It’s changing where you go.

A few travel trends have really caught my attention lately.

1. Cruising is changing.
Smaller ships, incredible dining and destination-focused itineraries are attracting travelers who never considered themselves “cruise people.”

2. Peak summer Europe isn’t always the first choice.
May, June, September and October can mean fewer crowds, beautiful weather and often better value.

3. Travelers are looking beyond the usual destinations.
Japan and Southeast Asia remain high on wish lists, while Portugal, Scotland and South America are getting more attention.

And maybe the biggest shift?

Travelers want their trips to feel more personal.

Boutique hotels. Local guides. Memorable meals. Experiences that actually connect you to the destination.

The best trips aren’t about doing more. They’re about traveling better.
