Southern Aroostook Food Pantry

Southern Aroostook Food Pantry CLOSED
Thank you to our supporters. We enjoyed helping while we could.

08/22/2023

It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the closing of Southern Aroostook Pantry.
We have been unable to get Hannaford to reinstate donations to the pantry.
We want to thank all of you for making SAP a success for so many years. Thank you for donating to help us pay electricity, heat, rent, insurance and trucking.
Thank you for all of your kind words and gestures. We truly loved being here for you and helping you stretch your dollars just a little further.
We would like to thank the local truckers ( I’m not going to try to name you all because I’m afraid I will forget someone, but you know who you are. Just know that you and your drivers were very much appreciated.) who
generously provided their trucking services at a very minimal fee to get donations to the pantry from Hannaford, Poland Springs, Dennis Paper, LaBrees, and B&M Beans. Thank you to all of these companies for
their support over the years.
Thank you Ron for working so tirelessly to coordinate truckloads of product from Hannaford. We appreciate
all you did for us.
Thank you Clark for always thinking of us and sending donations our way from Dennis Paper.
Thank you Adam for always making sure that our requests were met as well and as quickly as possible.
Thank you to local farmers for their donations of fresh vegetables (potatoes, squash, carrots and beets).
Thank you to McCain Foods and Pineland Farms for donations of potato products.
Thank you to all of our volunteers over the years. Your dedication to the mission of the pantry is so much appreciated. You worked in rain, snow, extreme heat and extreme cold. We couldn’t have done it without you. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Thank you to Ted Ivey, who made the pantry what it was. Ted’s dedication to making the pantry a success was never ending. He put his heart and soul into the pantry and grew it from its humble beginnings serving 26
families to serving over 1000 families from Mars Hill to Millinocket. We love and miss you Ted. Rest in Peace.
Thank you to all of the other volunteers over the years, too many to mention, but all appreciated and
instrumental in keeping the pantry going.
We lost volunteers through the years. RIP Ritchie, John, Andrea, and Karl. Thank you for all you did to help the pantry.
Thank you to Katrina for managing our FaceBook page. Great job handling all of the posts and fielding the questions.
Thank you to Steve for managing our website.
Thank you Cheri for being there for me and taking on the running of the pantry. You have been phenomenal, and words cannot express my gratitude for everything you’ve done for the pantry and for me. I will be forever in you debt.
We at SAP love you all and will miss seeing and chatting with you. We wish you all the very best.
Love,
Marybeth
