Kruise Control Transportation has to temporarily stop accepting Medicaid rides due to recent state Medicaid cuts. Like the 30–40 other companies removed from MAS, we’ve noticed that many of us had only one or two vehicles, which seems to have played a role in these decisions. Also when we appealed to be removed from the network, we were told that this area isn’t in need of this many NEMT businesses in this area. (Their way of cutting small companies from Medicaid). We were given 2 days notice that we would be losing our contract. Price of doing business with the government.
While this is a major setback, we believe this is God’s will and remain hopeful for what the future holds. In the coming weeks, we will be transitioning to taxi services to continue serving our community. Change is never easy, but we are ready to move forward with faith and determination.
