We love a good transit love story. Wanna share yours with us?

Not only did we sell out this event, but we had 100% attendance! It’s crazy when you plan for maybe 20% of people not showing up and review the guest list just to see everyone did! It was such a privilege to host Dr. Bruce Appleyard for our Imagine This Speaker Series event! We do our best to educate the community on transportation to build their capacity to ask elected officials for things that WORK. It’s one thing to say, I’m tired of people speeding, it’s another thing to say, I want quick build roundabouts, road diets, and flashing beacons. Knowledge is power, friends.

Sold my car and picked up a HOLO card, and honestly? Honolulu feels different when you’re not paying $1,000+ a month just to exist on wheels. Car-free living is the real hack in this city 🌺🚌✨

Happy Halloween, friends! What elements of transportation planning do you see in this image? 🤔⠀

We see…. Transit oriented development! Housing right next to transit stops is important for easy trick or treating. ⠀

Bike lanes! Dedicated bike lanes to encourage biking and to reduce car traffic on the road. ⠀

Crosswalks! Visibility is super important all the time but especially on Halloween. 🎃 ⠀

More child fatalities happen on roads Halloween night than any other day of the year. Be careful, and look out for others! ⠀

Hawaii 🛫 Seattle to see alllll the things. ⠀

Transportation isn’t all buses and trains and cars and bikes. It’s spaces to linger, amenities to utilize on your way, safety measures to protect you, and infrastructure to meet your needs. ⠀

Seattle is doing all the things and we are so grateful for our time there meeting with project managers to inspire us to think, “why not Hawaii?” ⠀
