Somewhere, an airline marketing team loved this idea.

Somewhere else, an engineer was asking how many layers of paint were going on the aircraft. 😂

This is an Alaska Airlines Boeing 737 MAX 9 wearing its Pixar-themed special livery.

Fun fact: aircraft paint adds weight, which means airlines actually factor it into fuel and operating costs.

Not enough to keep Buzz Lightyear grounded, but enough that it gets attention.

Still, we’d say it’s worth it.

The longer you work around aircraft, the more you realize that safety is rarely one big decision.

It's hundreds of small decisions made correctly.

One inspection.
One measurement.
One torque check.

Most people see the takeoff. They see the landing. They see the aircraft climbing into the sky and assume that's where the story begins.

But anyone who has spent time around aviation knows better.

Long before the engines start, someone has already been there. Inspecting. Troubleshooting. Repairing. Double-checking.

The goal was never just to get the aircraft in the air.

The reality is, most of the job is making sure something never breaks in the first place.

Sometimes that means spending an entire day peeling away paint just to inspect what’s underneath.

Not glamorous.

Just necessary.

And that’s what keeps airplanes flying. ✈️
