This was an incredible community effort! Citrus County residents banded together just a week ago to tackle a daunting task. The turnout was astounding, with numerous individuals and companies going above and beyond. Even after Milton passed, companies remained committed to completing the cleanup. I must give credit to the Citrus County Government for their support, including providing 24/7 access to the landfill at no cost and funding the cleanup efforts. This impressive feat demonstrates the power of local collaboration. It would be great to see more projects like this one handled by local companies that genuinely care, rather than low-bidding contractors who might still be cleaning up next hurricane season. I wish I would have been able to take more pictures but we were a little busy 🤣

The real mvp is Michael’s GMC!!!!That truck had caught all hell for the last 4 days!! That truck has been through our last 3 floods, hooked to a 5th wheel that burned to the ground, 430k miles and still out there pulling like a freight train!

I’m not posting this for anything other than showing what a community should be. Not only did we (mostly my son, Michael Perry) haul debris all day long, but we had 20-30 dump trailers and tractors moving debris all day long. This is how people should act in the face of adversity.
