Our mission is to provide the public with state-of-the-art global air access to strengthen the local economy and improve the area’s quality of life.

Airport Manager Matt Neyens attended the West Michigan Aviation Academy Leaders of Tomorrow Gala at Gerald R. Ford International Airport last night. The event celebrated the academy's mission of providing students with flight training and hands-on learning opportunities.
It was an inspiring evening that reinforced the importance of investing in the next generation of aviation professionals. We're excited to continue building connections that support these educational efforts right here in West Michigan.

Thank you to everyone who joined us this past weekend for our fifth annual Tulip Time Fly-In! This year, we had 24+ planes fly in to help us kick off Tulip Time at the airport.
We enjoyed hosting the community, serving pastries and watching the planes land. Stay tuned for more events at the airport as the weather warms up!

It's almost here! Tomorrow, Saturday, May 2nd, marks our fifth annual Tulip Time Fly-In, and we'd love to see you there. From 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., pilots are invited to fly in, and the community is encouraged to come watch the action. Enjoy complimentary pastries and coffee in our Business Center.

First 15 pilots to fly in score a free WMRA t-shirt. After that, t-shirts will be available for purchase for $25. We will also have a flight school and maintenance shop on field to check out.

If you’re headed downtown for the Tulip Time festivities, we've got rides running from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. for $5 each way. Please bring exact change.

We're kicking off Tulip Time this Saturday with our fifth annual Tulip Time Fly-In! From 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., pilots are invited to fly in and locals are welcome to watch. Enjoy a complimentary pastry and coffee in our Business Center.

We will have free WMRA branded t-shirts for the first 15 pilots that fly in! After that, t-shirts will be available for purchase for $25. We will also have a flight school and maintenance shop on field to check out.

For anyone interested in heading downtown to join the Tulip Time festivities, transportation will be available from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Rides cost $5 each way. Please bring exact change.

We were happy to host another event last week when Flight Path partnered with Grand Haven Christian Middle School. Students spent an afternoon at the airport learning about aviation and it's impact on our local community.
We're excited to be a part of more educational opportunities like this in the future!

Summer is a great time for students to explore what's next! We are proud to serve as an ambassador for IChallengeU, a two-week internship program for 9th-12th grade students that provides real-world work experience at local businesses and college scholarship opportunities. ✈️Meet Your WMRA Board: Sally Gruppen

Sally is a Zeeland native whose career has remained grounded in her community. She was the first woman elected to the Zeeland City Council, running on a mission to build a functional, safe library and community center. Through door-to-door campaigning, she helped make that vision a reality with the Howard Miller Library and Community Center. Over the course of her public service, she has served on 14 different committees and boards, all driven by her commitment to bettering her community.

“Service is part of my makeup. I am happiest in my life helping others.” she remarked.

Sally later joined a committee tasked with forming an area authority with the goal of purchasing, building and maintaining a local airport. That effort eventually became West Michigan Regional Airport, where she now serves as the secretary.

Sally plans to continue her work at WMRA by helping provide more services to local residents to foster ongoing connection in the community. She says it all starts with a willingness to learn and care for each other. She believes the airport is a great example of how people can come together to make something valuable happen for the good of all.
