Food truck Friday (sort of) at Hinckley Airport (0C2) tomorrow, 6.6.2025–taking orders at 11:30am sharp.

The rest of the story: Faye’s BBQ has some of the best pork chops and chicken around and they have a spot on the corner of Hwy 30 and 23 just 3 miles from the airport. Figure whoever is at the west end of Hinckley at 11:30am sharp, we’ll take orders and send a driver to pick up and bring back to the Hinckley Airport - 0C2 - Hinckley, IL likely no later than noon.

With today’s rain (and hopefullyuly more in the days ahead), the grass should grow quickly. This area is now safer as the obstacles are further to the south away from the taxiway.

I had the special opportunity to take these two flying yesterday at the Hinckley Airport. First time in the Champ for C and first small airplane flight ever for J. Grandkids are just awesome!

What a great day yesterday as the entire Hinckley-big Rock Elem School 5th grade class visited the airport. They saw a glider launch from Windy City Soaring Association, radio controlled airplanes flying by the Kishwaukee RC Flyers, and the airport owners showed them about maintenance and assembled/flew balsa airplanes. Really looking forward to next time!

You may have heard the phrase ‘you have to make hay when it’s sunny’ … well the airport with grass runway corollary is ‘you have to smooth out the bumps when it’s soft’. So despite the cold and wind, here we are.
