August 15th we will host a cruise in at the airport. 8:00AM to noon. We will try to get food vendors as well.

With the race event cancelled, should we rally and host a cruise in the same day, August 15th? We could try and get a few food trucks, music and enjoy the day! Let us know if there's any interest!

RACE EVENT CANCELLED

Reason: A new requirement is now in place. All tire rubber marks must be removed post race. This is a new federal requirement that was not an issue in the past. This is why these types of events are now being cancelled. It's impossible for us to remove all tire marks from the surface and we will not risk violating grant assurances. I don't expect to see these events at airports going forward.

We understand everyones disappointment. We cancelled the cars and coffee earlier this year due to the smoke and our coffee vendor not being comfortable in those conditions . We're trying our best to host events. Events that do not require use of the airfield are easy to accommodate. We welcome ideas and volunteers to help host!

Good morning,

We regret to announce that our airport race event has been cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances beyond our control. This is not a local issue, we had full support from everyone in Hillsdale. Many businesses donated and volunteered their time. We put many months of work into this and we're very disappointed that we won't be able to host a day of racing for our community.

Anyone who donated will be refunded the full amount immediately.

If there's interest, we would be happy to host a cruise in event.
