🌟Congratulations to our amazing VVTA team members who represented us at the 2026 APTA International Roadeo Competition this May! 🚍👊

A huge shoutout to Bus Operator Gordon Irons, who absolutely knocked it out of the bus hub and crused it at this year’s competition! We are incredibly proud of his hard work, dedication, and outstanding performance. 👏

We also want to congratulate our talented Maintenance Team from the Hesperia Yard - Enrique Cuevas, Russ Hirsch, and Donovan MacDonald, for their incredible participation and achievements at the competition. Their hard work and skills placed them high across the board, and they represented VVTA with excellence! 👏

Being selected to compete at the international level is already a major accomplishment, and all of these employees made VVTA proud every step of the way.

VVTA passengers riding Route 27 will soon have improved access to Barstow Church of God in Christ and the surrounding neighborhood.

Effective Sunday, May 31, 2026, Route 27 will begin servicing a new bus stop located on Sage Drive near Barstow Church of God in Christ. The new stop is identified as Bus Stop #30298.

The route adjustment is designed to improve accessibility and convenience for passengers traveling in the area, including church members, nearby residents, and community visitors.

Passengers are encouraged to review updated route information and plan accordingly prior to travel.

VVTA is proud to recognize Bus Operator in Barstow - Nicholas Zarate for Employee of the Month for April 2026! In recognition of his outstanding compassion, professionalism, and dedication.

On April 11, 2026, while servicing Barstow City Hall, Nicholas noticed a passenger in distress who was unable to board due to soiled clothing. Going above and beyond his duties, Nicholas—along with his family—provided clean clothing, helping the passenger regain dignity and access transit services.

His actions reflect his strong character and commitment to serving our community with empathy and respect.

Nicholas is also consistently reliable, maintains excellent attendance, and willingly extends shifts when needed, making him an invaluable member of the team.

For his exceptional service and heart for our passengers, Nicholas Zarate is truly deserving of Employee of the Month recognition.
