Greetings from Hershey. Fall has a way of making Hershey feel especially inviting. The mornings turn a little cooler, the evenings seem to slow down, and the calendar begins to fill with some of our favorite seasonal traditions.

This month, we are sharing two new blogs to help you plan a cozy escape. The first gives you permission to take a last-minute couples getaway, and the other rounds up some of our favorite places in and around Hershey for a well-made cocktail. We are also especially excited for what is ahead this fall. Chef Hannah’s first fall cooking class weekend begins Halloween weekend, and the beloved AACA Eastern Fall Meet returns to Hershey in October. Between the food, the vintage cars, and the beauty of the season, it is shaping up to be a wonderful time to visit.

Happy Labor Day from all of us at the Inn on Church Road. Today is a day that is set aside for the people who keep everything running, the ones who go to work early or are on the late shifts, and for everyone who rarely gets a slow morning away from work to just relax.

If that sounds like you, we hope today gives you a real break. And if a long weekend off is hard to come by, keep us in mind when you finally get one. A quiet house and a good breakfast will be waiting.

October is one of those months when Hershey gives you plenty of reasons to plan a getaway. The Hershey Bears open their season at GIANT Center on Saturday, October 3, and just a few days later, the AACA Eastern Fall Meet returns October 6–9, bringing thousands of classic cars, collectors, and enthusiasts to the Hershey area.

These are some of the busiest dates of the fall, and The Inn on Church Road puts you just a short drive from GIANT Center, Hersheypark, and all the October activity. If Hershey is on your fall calendar, now is a good time to make sure you have somewhere comfortable to come home to at the end of the day.

Meet Chef Hannah. If you’ve stayed at The Inn on Church Road, you may already know Chef Hannah through one of the best parts of the morning: Our amazing breakfasts.

But did you know Hannah is a skilled chef who has cooked professionally and taught cooking classes locally for many years? When she and her husband, Dan, purchased the historic Fishburn residence in 2018, the Inn gave Hannah the opportunity to bring her love of cooking into a business of their own. Today, Hannah prepares the chef-made breakfasts our guests enjoy during their stay. And one of the questions she hears again and again after breakfast is, “How did you make this?”

That question helped inspire what comes next. Chef Hannah is reopening the kitchen for her super popular, small, hands-on culinary experiences at The Inn on Church Road. Instead of simply watching, guests will cook alongside Hannah, learn practical techniques, ask questions, and enjoy what they create together.
