Fort Pillow State Historic Park Fort Pillow State Historic Park is a 1,625 acre park located in Southwest Lauderdale County in West Tennessee. The park is open 7am to Sunset, 7 days a week.

The park is home to Fort Pillow Battlefield which was the site of the Fort Pillow Massacre. This park includes 1600+ acres of conserved land and an old confederate fort. There is hiking to be done and civil war artifacts to see here. There are also campgrounds and a pavilion to rent. The staff of Fort Pillow had a great time programming for the “Founding Forward” group yesterday. “Founding Forward” is a group of teachers from all over the United States touring around different sites and learning the history. Programs conducted were museum tour, park video, civil war cannon demonstration, civil war r***e demonstration, guided hike to the restored fortification, and changing of the Mississippi River from the Observation Deck.
