We had the privilege of hosting a group from the Literacy Connection this week at Venture! They practiced their english skills as they “rented” their bikes. It was a joy to see these two worlds collide: our summer employee, Mia, who is also a summer employee at the Literacy Connection brought a group out.

We think riding bikes while practicing english is a pretty great combo!👏🤍

Heads up, riders. We'll continue our 2-hour rental rates for the duration of the closure.

Alert! White Pine Reopening Delayed.

Construction has been moving along for the White Pine Drive Roundabout, but will require additional weeks to complete. The existing trail has been milled up and the embankment completed along the east side of White Pine with paving planned in the next week or so. There is a delay with the construction of the west side of the trail due to Wall #6 (a 250’ long segmental block wall that is constructed along the trail to retain the fill slope). NCDOT shares that the construction of the required wall is anticipated to add additional weeks of closure to the Ecusta Trail.

We’ll provide additional updates for the anticipated reopening of the trail in the section when able. We appreciate everyone being safe and following the posted signage, thank you for your patience!

If you're visiting or new here, we've placed temporary signage along Main Street & 4th Avenue to help folks navigate from the Ecusta Trail to the Oklawaha Trail during the temporary closure.

Be on the lookout for the signs with the fox as you ride!

🚲 Planning a ride on the Ecusta Trail this summer? Here's what you need to know.

For the next two weekends, you can still enjoy the full trail Ecusta Trail experience from Venture Ecusta to Horse Shoe.

Venture & the full trail will be open:
☀️ June 25–29
☀️ July 2–5 (Fourth of July weekend)

🚧 Starting July 6, a section of the Ecusta Trail will temporarily close while NCDOT completes road improvements in Laurel Park.

The good news? We'll be open and you'll still be able to ride with us.

During construction, riders can enjoy:
• 2 miles of the Ecusta Trail
• A 1-mile connector route through Downtown Hendersonville
• 3 miles of the Oklawaha Greenway

To better fit the available riding distance, we'll be temporarily offering 2-hour rentals:
🚲 Kid Bike — $20
🚲 Trail Bike — $25
⚡ E-Bike — $40
🚼 Kid/Pet Trailer — $15
*Two-hour rentals will be available on our website

Want to make a day of it? We'll continue offering half-day rentals for riders who want to explore Downtown Hendersonville, 7th Avenue, local shops, restaurants, and breweries. Email, call us, or stop by to arrange a half-day rental.

Please note that our Twilight Special will be paused during the closure period.

Trail of the Month: North Carolina’s Ecusta Trail!

The state’s newest rail-trail currently extends 6 miles from downtown Hendersonville to Horse Shoe, with plans plans to grow. This scenic pathway weaves through urban, suburban and rural landscapes, linking residents and visitors to local businesses, beautiful landscapes and gathering places along the way. Since opening in July 2025–thanks to the efforts of Friends of Ecusta Trail, who worked with other supporting organizations (including RTC!), and community members—the trail has already emerged as a vibrant hub and economic driver for the region.
