Join us for an informal conversation about the future of Heber Valley Airport. Subject-matter experts will review important topics like the feasibility of closing the airport, the financial and legal risks associated with staying out of federal compliance, and the future airport layout options that will and won’t work. The public is invited to ask questions directly to aviation professionals as part of the large-group Q&A.

Heber City Councilmembers will be on hand to listen and take feedback in advance of their October 18 regular meeting.

Between the joint committee meeting and the public open house, nearly 100 people discussed the options and limitations of the alternatives process. A HUGE thank-you to our local EAA - The Spirit of Aviation chapter for taking 22 new adventurers on their first flights today! Local pilots donated their time and their aircraft to teach kids about aviation, including taking them flying. The EAA Young Eagles program was founded in 1992, and has helped more than 2 million young people discover the world of flight.

Such a fun time at the annual event! A day of commemorative Air Force planes and a car show started with a pancake breakfast and ended with swing dancing. It’s a wonderful way to bring the community to Heber Valley Airport, and we can’t wait to do it again next year.

Many thanks to the Young Men from the Heber 15th Ward of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, who came to the airport for a service project. Our landscaping is much improved!

Kudos to our airport manager, Travis Biggs, for his successful and informative presentation at the first-ever Utah Aeronautics Conference! More than 500 aviation professionals attended, and many stopped by to hear an update on the Heber Valley Airport master plan process and the strategies the City is undertaking to determine the best use of the limited available property. He shared the stage with other aviation leaders like Michael Huerta, the former Administrator of the FAA, and Bill Wyatt, the Executive Director of the Salt Lake City Department of Airports. Thanks to the Utah Aeronautics Division and its many partners for a wonderful conference!
