Today we celebrate our incredible school bus drivers ๐Ÿ’›๐ŸšŒ

You are often the very first smile a student sees in the morningโ€”and the last reassuring face at the end of the day. You set the tone, provide comfort, and create a sense of safety before and after every school day.

No matter how big or small the challenge, you handle it with patience, professionalism, and care. From navigating busy roads to supporting students through all kinds of moments, you do far more than just driveโ€”you show up, every single day, for our kids.

You safely transport our most precious cargo day in and day out, often facing situations that many could never imagine handling. Your dedication does not go unnoticed.

We are truly fortunate to have some of the very best in the business here at Helfrich Bus Company. Thank you for everything you doโ€”not just today, but every day. ๐Ÿ’›

Much like everyone else out in the Monmouth County area, our garage and yard staff are working hard to attempt to clear our lot and buses. However, this snow is not stopping right now and I doubt we will be ready to return to business as usual by tomorrow morning. Stay safe out there. Do not go out if it is not absolutely necessary and take your time clearing the snow.

While the on site office is still out of service temporarily, off site is up and running and the day to day yard operations continue.

Earlier today, an incident at the yard required a response from Hazlet and other Bayshore emergency services. The situation was quickly contained, thanks to the dedicated members of these services.

Unfortunately the fire affected our utilities room, which houses our on site electrical and communications equipment for the main office.

While restoration efforts are underway to open the office, please contact us via the following offsite-monitored email addresses:

๐ŸšŒ ๐Ÿ›‘ Happy National School Bus Safety Week ๐ŸšŒ ๐Ÿ‘ง ๐Ÿ‘ฆ ๐Ÿ›‘

Please teach your families about the importance of school bus safety. From riding as passengers to driving on the road.

Teach your children to show respect to others at the stops and on buses, toward their driver and/or aides. Show them responsibility by being at their stop before the scheduled time and do not play around the bus stop. Tell them not to seat hop or scream and yell as this can cause a major distraction for the driver.

Donโ€™t eat on buses because you never know allergy situations and most kids do not throw away their garbage.

Walk in front of the bus never behind it. Look both ways. Unfortunately there are people out there not paying attention to stop signs.

Drivers: remain undistracted and be patient. One day your children or family member may be a bus rider. Be cautious in residential areas during school hours and do not pass a school bus that is stopped with red flashing lights. Be aware the bus tail swings and do not follow closely. This can lead to an accident.

Above all, letโ€™s practice patience and safety and we can all be on the road together.
