One thing Iâve learned as a travel planner is that this job is about so much more than simply âbooking a trip.â
Anyone can click buttons and reserve a flight or hotel online. Some agents focus strictly on transactions. But for me, this business has always been rooted in service, relationships, and being someone my clients can truly lean on when life gets overwhelming.
Recently, after the passing of my father in law, there were so many moving pieces for our family. Flights to arrange. A hotel stay to coordinate. A rental car needed quickly. In the middle of grief and stress, having those details handled mattered more than I can explain.
It also made me realize that many people donât think about using a Travel Specialist for moments like these. Most only associate us with vacations and fun trips, but having someone handle the logistics during stressful or emotional times can be such a relief.
It reminded me exactly why I care so deeply about what I do.
Yes, Iâm here for the magical vacations, the countdowns, the castle photos, cruise sailaways, and the happy tears. But Iâm also here during the difficult seasons too. When your mind is already carrying too much and you need someone dependable to quietly take a few things off your plate.
To me, great service is not just answering emails or making reservations. Itâs anticipating needs, paying attention to details, and helping people feel supported, whether theyâre traveling for celebration, rest, family, or unexpected circumstances.
Sometimes travel planning is about magic.
Sometimes itâs about showing up for the people you love.
Sometimes itâs simply about making a hard moment feel a little less heavy.
And Iâm incredibly grateful I get to help people through all of it. â¤ď¸
