Just some notes for anyone interested and for future reference:
1. Genie+ is necessary at every park if you don't want to stand in line. Any where between $20-25 per day. Pay for it at 7am, book your first Lightning Lane as early as you can. Two hours after the park opens, you can book your second. You can continue to book after you enter each ride or every 2 hours.
2. Individual Lightning Lanes are completely separate bookings and cost, $16-22. Use it if you have to ride that new ride, Tron, Guardians of Galaxy, etc. It will be worth it. It doesn't count in you other Lightning Lanes, so take what you can get.
3. Virtual Queues does not mean short line. It depends on the ride. It just tells you when to show up and doesn't figure in who is line at the particular time you show up. Guardians was a shorter line than Tron because Tron was newer. Several boarding groups are called at a time. Example: BG 01-25 at 9:05-10:05. The next boarding group will be called in about 15 minutes based on who showed up during that first 15 minutes. This is how the space it out. The next group could be 01-40 or 01-90 based on numbers in each group and who shows up. The time will change to 9:20-10:20. And they just keep stacking and adjusting. We were given a number and said we would be called around 11:20. At 9:10 am, they called our window 9:30-10:30. This messed up our schedule big time. We were able to get another VQ after 1pm when they opened again.
Those are the big things for getting through lines. I would much rather be told what time to show up instead of being stuck in line not able to eat, or go to the bathroom or find shade 🥵 Yes, it's costly, but worth every penny.❤️
