April was Meals on Wheels of America Volunteer Month! We were able to celebrate on April 30th for our first annual Volunteer Appreciation Meal.
Thanks to our friends at Hart EMC and the Hart EMC Foundation Inc/Operation RoundUp, we were awarded a grant to provide new cooler bags and hot and cold packs to keep our meals just the right temperatures. This helps ensure our clients are eating a safe and healthy meal five days a week!

Our friends at G's Southern Traditions did a fabulous job on the embroidering on the bags and aprons for the kitchen volunteers.

Our friends at Backstreet BBQ catered the meal. There's nothing better than eating good BBQ on a Thursday night with your friends!

We have around 80 volunteers between drivers and kitchen workers that keep the meals flowing to all of our folks. We are very thankful to each and every person that dedicates their time daily, weekly and monthly to make sure that our clients get the meals that they need. We couldn't do it without them! We celebrate you every single day!

Ms Frances S Bailey turns 90 years young today!

If you’re a long-time resident of Hart County, you probably remember getting a floral arrangement on special occasions from Frances’ Flowers! Frances and her husband, JC, owned the florist for many, many years.
Ms Frances was able to celebrate her special day with a surprise visit from her children, grandchildren and even some great grandchildren!

Happy birthday, Frances!

We are so saddened to hear our dear friend Mr. James has passed. He was one of the most genuine people that you would ever meet. He drove our Royston route for our Meals on Wheels program. He loved seeing his clients weekly. His passion for Georgia football and coming up with wild defensive plays will always be what people remember about him, but what will live on was his love and compassion for others. Mr. James worked at Whitworth Detention Center, and he often told us stories of the men he helped get their lives back on track. He helped countless men get their GEDs to make themselves and their families proud. His stories were always some of our favorites. He didn't just strive to make a difference in the lives of others, he succeeded. We will miss you, our friend!

Our friends from Pilot Club of Hartwell stopped by to work on our art project!
We love it when Linda, Pam and Karen stop by. These cross frames are gorgeous, and they’re just in time for Easter!
