Huge thank you to Howell Area Fire Department who responded so quickly and worked to put out the fire involving our truck’s load, as well as San Marino Excavating for getting a dumpster out so quickly. We are grateful for everyone’s hard work and help during a stressful situation. Thank you for everything you do!

⚠️ Important Safety Notice ⚠️

Over the past two days, we have experienced two load fires along our routes. Thankfully, both situations were handled safely and without injury.

We are asking all customers to help us prevent future incidents by being extra careful with waste disposal.

Please remember:
-Do not place batteries of any kind in garbage bins, lithium batteries can easily spark and cause fires
-Never place hot ashes, charcoal, or smoking materials in garbage containers
-Do not dispose of hazardous or combustible materials in garbage bins

These fires put our crew, community, equipment, and surrounding properties at serious risk. Your cooperation is essential in helping keep everyone safe.

Pickup is bi-weekly, and we have a live calendar on our website to help you stay on schedule.

Thank you to all of our veterans for your service and sacrifice. Hartland Township has put in an incredible amount of effort and time to create a truly beautiful memorial honoring past, present, and future veterans. We at Dougie’s Disposal are grateful to be part of such a strong and supportive community. It was a wonderful day and a great turnout for the ribbon-cutting ceremony.

Mark your calendars! Hartland’s Large Item Cleanup Day is set for Saturday, May 16th, from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM. This is a free event for Hartland residents to dispose of or shred large unwanted items.

Location will be the same as last year: enter through the main High School entrance off Dunham Road, before turning to the left into the West Side Parking Lot (instead of the East Side). Look for staff and signs to help direct traffic smoothly.

So gather up those big items and take advantage of this community cleanup opportunity. We’ll see you there!
