Island Cove is a full service marina and resort convienently located on State Highway 58, just north of Chattanooga. The marina is located at mile marker 477.5 on the scenic Tennessee River. Island Cove was awarded a 5 Anchor Rating by Quimby’s Cruise Guide for our outstanding facility. The marina also maintains a certification as a “Clean Marina.”

As water levels drop across Tennessee, boaters need to be extra cautious. Low water can expose hazards that are normally hidden beneath the surface, including rocks, tree stumps, sandbars and debris. Slow down to give yourself more time to react and reduce the risk of damage if you run aground.

Use extra caution at boat ramps, where low water can create deep drop-offs at the end of the concrete. Avoid unfamiliar shallow coves and shorelines, and always be alert for changing water conditions.

Before heading out, remember to wear a properly fitted life jacket and share a float plan with someone. Low water can change familiar waterways—slow down, stay alert and boat safely.

Calling all young Tennessee artists!

The 2026–27 Youth Fish Art Contest is now open! Students in grades K–12 can submit an original 2D artwork featuring a Tennessee native fish in its natural habitat.

The contest is free to enter, with a special Bill Dance Signature Lakes Award for artwork featuring largemouth or smallmouth bass, including scenes of bass fishing.

Submit your artwork by: Feb. 28, 2027.
