A few weeks ago I posted an update on the season ahead, some changes I’m making and what I plan to focus on this year. I had a comment about cutting garden boxes, and have had some messages about them as well. While I wasn’t planning to do them this year, that decision has been swimming around in my head as it was one of my favorite things to offer in the spring. There’s something about growing plants for other people to be able to enjoy the pure joy of a garden. This time of the year I’m spending a lot of time daydreaming about warmer days and pretty flowers.

That said, if I do offer plant starts again I’m thinking I will have the sale only a week or so before the plants are ready to be picked up, so late April. I’d like to be able to offer not only a curated garden collection, but also individual varieties. If you purchase or would like to purchase plants for your garden this spring (specifically for cut flower use - something not typically available from nurseries) what quantities would you prefer? 1, 2, 3 of each variety? More? Are you the type of person who would rather have a curated box, or would like to be able to choose your own colors and varieties to customize your garden. Let me know of any suggestions! I would love to be able to offer this again for 2026 and am open to hearing everyone’s thoughts 🌱 💐

Photo of some colorful summer arrangements from a few years ago. I haven’t grown that sparkly little red filler in a few years but am thinking it would be a fun one to add to the garden boxes. It’s called Jewels of Opar and it’s magical ✨

Yes, I’m still dividing dahlia tubers over here! It’s a much slower process this year but I’m hoping to be finished within the next month. My sale will likely be sometime in March, with shipping starting in April as the weather allows. I will be posting updates on the sale opening once I’m done dividing. I’m excited to be able to share some new varieties that have taken me a few years to build stock of, including 20th Ave Memory - a beautiul soft blush bloom that’s perfect for cutting and highly productive. The eyes on this one are easy to spot and abundant. You can see 5 eyes on this one tuber 👀

On a personal note - our sweet girl turned 3 months old today! 💞

Happy New Year and a small life/business update! ⬇️

2025 brought a beautiful growing season as well as a change of pace from previous years. As it turns out, flower farming while pregnant is noticeably more challenging than normal - who would have thought?! Now that we’re in the new year it’s time to really start making my garden plans for 2026. How will I continue my business while also making it work for my family? As of right now I won’t be offering spring flowers until the peonies are in bloom. Instead I plan to take that time in the spring to focus on prepping my dahlia rows and growing a few extras for 2 weddings in late summer. I’ve always wanted to focus more on dahlias, but each year would get lost in the sauce with all the other crops I was growing. I’m excited to see how a shift (temporary or not) in my business model might work better for me and my family.

I’ve had a few people reach out about my dahlia tuber sale this year. I will still be having one but it’s going to launch later than usual. Dividing is a slower process with a little babe, so keep an eye out for updates. I’m thinking it may not be until mid March this year.

Thank you for all the support in 2025! Here are some snapshots of a few things I grew last year, with the last photo being my absolute favorite 🥹❤️

Thank you for another season of celebrating your birthdays, anniversaries, and everything in between. This has been the most challenging season yet for me, with working another job and not performing at 100% while being pregnant, but I’m grateful I was still able to send out a lot of beautiful flowers. My plans for next season are still TBD but for now we’re excited to get ready to welcome our little girl 💞

July has never been my favorite month to grow flowers, but this year it’s especially challenging. Who knew that pregnancy and physical labor don’t mix?!

Soon the weather will start to cool down, the dahlias will be blooming, and I’ll remember that I actually do love growing flowers 🥴

Hope everyone had a safe holiday! Last night Elijah and I wanted to document the status of grandpa’s corn, and it passed the test. Knee high by the 4th of July! But more importantly - tucked safely away from the deer in the new fence my dad put up this year. Before we know it it will be time to process and freeze so we can eat it throughout the winter.

My dad has been growing sweet corn every summer for as long as I can remember. When we were kids we begrudgingly helped w**d each row by hand, I can remember how much I hated it 🤣 But as I got older and especially once I started growing flowers, I realized how much time, energy, and love goes into farming. Last year, before the deer fence was up, dad lost this whole field to the deer. It was disheartening to see all his work be for nothing, so we’re pretty excited about now having a fence up to protect the harvest. If anyone has any yummy recipes feel free to send them my way!
