It’s a beautiful day to fly at HAB! ✈️

It’s been a busy morning, with an average of two aircraft departures every 10 minutes. We also welcomed a flight of four rare 1940s Globe Swifts stopping in on their way to Texas for a fly-in event.

Big things are happening at HAB. ✈️

With additional locally based aircraft and a flight school temporarily operating from our airport while runway work is underway at Jasper’s airport, expect to see and hear more aircraft in the Hamilton area over the coming weeks.

The added aviation activity brings more visitors, fuel sales, maintenance activity, and economic impact to Marion County while also introducing more people to general aviation and flight training in our community.

Marion County–Rankin Fite Airport continues to prove itself as an important regional asset, and we’re excited to support fellow aviators while showcasing what our airport and county have to offer.

We’re proud to recognize three local seniors pursuing careers in aviation:

• Connor Evans, Hamilton High School — will attend his parents’ flight school, Go Vertical Aviation, going through the school’s Advanced Professional Pilot Course
• Max Herdzik, Marion County High School — will pursue a Bachelor of Science in Aviation Management at Auburn University’s School of Aviation
• Macon Harris, Marion County High School — will pursue a Bachelor of Science in Professional Flight at Auburn University’s School of Aviation

It’s been a busy few days here at KHAB.

We recorded 12 arrivals and departures on Friday, 9 on Saturday, and 10 today.

From local pilots heading out to visit colleges or enjoy a quick trip to the coast, to transient aircraft stopping in for fuel, we’re proud to serve the aviation community and keep things moving.
