KMX crews recently completed onsite export packaging services for a critical first-of-its-kind machine.



The machine was dismantled into six components, totaling more than 335,000 lbs for shipment. International customers and third-party inspectors were onsite throughout the packaging process, witnessing a level of ex*****on that exceeded expectations.

KMX kicked off a new export packaging job this week supporting an Australia LNG shipment. This is the first of several 75,000 lb units in the order.



We put together a custom packaging setup that allows direct lashing to the equipment while still keeping full moisture protection for ocean transit—built to make handling easier while protecting cargo on long ocean moves.



KMX is strategically located near Mid-Atlantic ports, which helps us move projects efficiently in and out of key import/export gateways.

Rolling Towards the Finish Line

Two more 190,000lb mill rolls were loaded and secured this week and are now in transit to another facility for repurposing.

Each roll was secured in accordance with AAR lashing guidelines, with railcar inspections carefully coordinated to ensure safe, compliant transportation. With just one remaining roll left on the order, this project is quickly approaching completion — stay tuned for the final update.

KMX turned this project around quickly. While the motor hood was relatively light, its nearly 15-foot width required extra coordination and permitting to ensure smooth delivery to the USEC port.



With Pennsylvania’s construction season in full swing, timing was critical. Our team successfully navigated permitting challenges to keep the shipment on track and delivered to the port as scheduled.

KMX was contracted to package this unique piece for rail shipment—an operation made more complex by its weight near 200,000 lbs.



Our packaging team engineered a solution that maximized protection without limiting critical lashing and securement options. The shaft was carefully preserved using a rust inhibitor, wrapped in grease paper, shrink-wrapped, and reinforced with oak timber lathing. This approach enabled securement crews to meet AAR guidelines with confidence and efficiency.
