Charles R. "Chuck" Brennan Sr., 85, of Clear Spring, MD, passed away Tuesday, February 27, 2024, at Seaton Assisted Living in Hagerstown, MD.
Born February 23, 1939, in Clear Spring, MD, he was the son of the late James R. Brennan and Thelma R. (Moore) Brennan.
Chuck was a 1957 graduate of Clear Spring High School and a veteran of the US Air Force, serving during the Cuban Crisis.
He was a diesel mechanic for Baker Driveway, Charlton Brothers Transport, and Blue Seal Feeds, retiring in 2015. Chuck was a member of the Alsatia Club, the Clear Spring American Legion, the Seldom Seen Hunt Club, and the Stoney Cabin Hunt Club.
He is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Brenda Sue (Mongan) Brennan of Clear Spring; a son, Charles R. "Chuck" Brennan Jr. of Clear Spring; a stepdaughter, Melissa Stallknecht and husband, Greg, of Hagerstown; grandson, Todd Brennan of Clear Spring; step-granddaughter, Kara Hemphill and husband, Joe, of Smithsburg; and two great-granddaughters, Millie and Maeve.
In addition to his parents, Chuck was preceded in death by a brother, Robert H. Brennan.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 5, 2024, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Donald Edwin Thompson Funeral Home, Inc., 13607 National Pike, Clear Spring, MD.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Chuck's honor to the Humane Society of Washington County, 13011 Maugansville Road, Hagerstown, MD 21740.
