For the 12-month period ending December 21, 2005, the airport had 5,830 aircraft operations, an average of 15 per day: 3,000 itinerant general aviation, 1,500 local general aviation, 1,300 air taxi and 30 military. At that time there were 10 aircraft based at this airport: 100% single-engine.

Mountain Arts Center, City of Prestonsburg to honor
Willard Kinzer
The Mountain Arts Center (MAC) and The City of Prestonsburg will honor one of their biggest partners in Mr. Willard Kinzer before Billie Jean Osborne’s Kentucky Opry performance this Saturday, June 23. A presentation will take place on stage at 7:15pm. Mr. Kinzer’s race car will be on display in the MAC lobby.
Mr. Kinzer and his late wife, Lucy, were instrumental in securing funds to build the MAC. He has been instrumental through the years in various projects, especially the education aspect of the MAC and Miss Billie Jean Osborne’s vision. Mr. Kinzer continues to serve on the MAC management commission.
