Why Train at Hall’s Aviation?
If you’ve always dreamed of becoming a pilot, earning your Sport Pilot Certificate can be one of the fastest and most affordable ways to get started in aviation.
At Hall’s Aviation, our goal is to make flight training approachable, professional, and enjoyable. You’ll train with experienced flight instructors who will help you build the knowledge, confidence, and flying skills needed to become a safe and capable pilot. Financing is also available to help make training more manageable.
With the FAA’s updated MOSAIC rules, Sport Pilot flying has become an option for more pilots and a wider range of qualifying aircraft. That makes now a great time to explore whether the Sport Pilot path is right for you.
Sport Pilot vs. Private Pilot — What’s the Difference?
A Sport Pilot Certificate requires a minimum of 20 hours of flight training, compared with a minimum of 40 hours for a Private Pilot Certificate. Because of the lower minimum training requirement, Sport Pilot training can potentially reduce the time and cost required to earn your first pilot certificate.
Sport Pilots are generally limited to carrying one passenger and have additional operating limitations compared with Private Pilots. Qualifying Sport Pilots may also be able to use a valid U.S. driver’s license instead of obtaining a traditional FAA medical certificate for eligible operations.
A Private Pilot Certificate provides greater flexibility. Private Pilots can carry additional passengers when the aircraft allows, receive night training as part of the certificate requirements, and continue toward an Instrument Rating, Commercial Pilot Certificate, CFI, and professional aviation career.
If your goal is recreational flying and getting into the cockpit sooner, the Sport Pilot Certificate may be a great place to start. If your goal is advanced ratings or a professional flying career, the Private Pilot Certificate provides the broader foundation.
Whether your goal is to fly for fun or begin a lifetime in aviation, Hall’s Aviation can help you find the training path that fits your goals.
