How do you get two 200,000-gallon tanks from Minnesota to the Virginia Spaceport? With a carefully coordinated journey by road and water.

Our team planned a custom route from New Prague to a barge at the Mosaic Terminal in Rosemount, Minnesota. From there, the tanks traveled through inland and coastal waters to Cape Charles, Virginia, before returning to land for the final stretch.

With multiple transportation transitions and state police escorts, every leg required careful planning. Watch the video to follow the journey!

A 216,000-pound transformer. A containment pit with strict floor load limits. A solution built around the details. Our team moved a main power transformer and its accessories from storage at our Channelview, TX warehouse to a project substation in Nixon, TX. Loading, transport, and delivery were coordinated in less than one week.

One challenge required some creative thinking: the containment pit floor could not support the cribbing needed for the jack-and-slide operation. Our team brought in steel spanner beams to span the pit without placing any load on its floor.

It’s the problem-solving behind the move that makes the difference.

Nine miles of road improvements. Ongoing attention to every detail. Our Engineering Team completed approximately 9 miles of road upgrades and construction in a rural area where the existing roads weren’t equipped for oversized components and daily heavy haul traffic.

With construction complete, our commitment continues. Our team performs monthly maintenance as the customer’s deliveries carry on, addressing upkeep down to replacing road and traffic signs that have been knocked down.

The big improvements matter. So does making sure the smaller details keep meeting the standard we set from the start.

Members of Team Logisticus attended Safe Harbor’s “At The Table” Luncheon, an opportunity to listen, learn, and come together in support of those affected by domestic abuse. The program spotlighted Safe Harbor staff, clients, survivors, and community partners, highlighting the people behind its work and the importance of building a community where relationships are safe and respectful.

A closer look at a bridge jumper in action. When an existing 99-foot bridge could not support the components being transported to a project site, our Engineering Team developed and installed a solution: a 100-foot bridge jumper that allowed delivery vehicles to safely bypass the bridge structure below.

Due to size limitations, the crane required for installation was brought in two separate pieces and assembled on site. The bridge jumper was then installed piece by piece, followed by gravel ramps to support the heavy haul vehicles crossing over it.

This is the value of having an experienced engineering team involved in project logistics. When infrastructure presents a challenge, our team has the heavy haul and power generation transportation experience to engineer a path forward and keep critical components moving.
