FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Greenville, Miss. — Due to ongoing winter weather and dangerously cold temperatures, Greenville Mid-Delta Airport will remain closed through Wednesday, with the potential for the closure to be extended depending on weather conditions.

Airport staff are closely monitoring forecasts and airfield conditions and will make reopening decisions based on safety for passengers, flight crews, and airport personnel.

“Our priority is always safety,” said Airport Director Levell Hawkins. “We know this closure may be inconvenient, but we will continue to evaluate conditions and keep the public informed as we move forward.”

Updates will be shared as conditions change. Travelers are encouraged to stay in contact with their airline for the latest flight information and to follow official airport communications for reopening details.

Additional updates will be provided as weather conditions improve.

Greenville Mid Delta Airport 2025 Full Scale Emergency Exercise:

Special thanks to everyone involved in our recent airport emergency exercise held on November 19th and hosted by the Greenville Mid Delta Airport. We sincerely appreciate the dedication and support of the Washington County Sheriff’s Department, Greenville Police Department, Pafford, Air Evacuation Life Team, Greenville Fire Department, Emergency Management Systems, Delta Health Systems, TSA, MS Delta Gear Up, Leland Medical Clinic, Denver Air Connection, Delta State University Volunteers, Home Drone, LLC, ARFF, Delta News and the airport staff.

Levell Hawkins states: I would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to every first responder who participated in our Full-Scale Emergency Exercise on November 19th, 2025. The exercise was an overwhelming success, and that success was made possible because of each individual persons who showed up, committed to the mission, and worked together as one unified team. Delta State University Aviation students visited the Greenville Airport and were treated to a comprehensive tour of the terminal, museum and the air traffic control tower, leaving them thrilled about the airport’s dynamic atmosphere.
