Five years ago, I had an idea.
That’s really where this story begins.
Five years ago in New Hampshire, the idea for Rides with Rob was born. I had no concept of what it would become. I just knew I wanted to build something of my own, do it the right way, and serve people.
There were plenty of reasons to wonder whether it would work. There were those who told me it wouldn’t, and there were moments when I wondered the same thing myself.
But I kept going, and to my surprise, it worked—and worked well.
In 2024, I moved to North Carolina and launched Rides with Rob in Greenville. Starting over in a new and unfamiliar place came with another wave of uncertainty and self-doubt, but I remembered something I’d been told by my northern friends and clients before I left:
Just do what you do.
So that’s what I did.
I showed up, took care of people, made every ride matter, and let the rest evolve naturally.
And slowly, something happened.
Word began to spread. One connection led to another. And opportunities emerged from places I never imagined they would—even today as I write this.
That’s probably the part of this journey that amazes me the most.
So much of what has happened has come from someone taking a chance on me. Then another…and another. And before I knew it, a new Rides with Rob family formed…and grew…and continues to grow.
Five years ago–even two years ago–I couldn’t have planned any of this. I couldn’t have predicted the people I’d meet, the relationships I’d build, the places I’d go, or the doors that would eventually open.
Even now, when someone gets into my vehicle and trusts me to get them where they’re going, I still don’t take that for granted.
I’m incredibly grateful for every person who has been part of this journey, from the mountains of New Hampshire to the coastal plains of North Carolina—for every moment, every conversation, every referral, every opportunity, every challenge, and every person who simply said, “Keep going.”
Five years ago, I had an idea. Today, that idea is still moving—and so am I.
Here’s to another 5 years in your service.
Thank you. 🙏
