The Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance’s (CVSA) International Roadcheck is scheduled for May 14-16. This is a high-visibility, high-volume commercial motor vehicle inspection and regulatory compliance enforcement initiative that takes place over three days in Canada, Mexico and the United States.

What an honor it was to be named Organization of the Year for 2023 by the Brown County Pals Program!

Below is a great writeup that appeared in the event program:

Contract Transport Services has been making Christmas dreams come true for children working with our Department since 2016. Each year, CTS has held a collection amongst their staff to raise the funds needed to purchase bikes for children in our community. Since they began this tradition in 2016, they have donated 225 bikes to children involved with the Pals Program and Brown County Child Protection. Take a moment to think about that. The average cost of a child's bike is around $100. That means that CTS's staff have donated approximately $22,500 worth of bikes to our Department over the last 8 years. That does not include the fact that they have also been dispersing bikes to another local Foster Care agency as well.

Such dedication and generosity from their employees truly speaks volumes about the type of company CTS is. What is even more impressive is that CTS has continued the Bike Giveaway throughout and following the pandemic. The last few years have been very difficult not only for the families that we serve, but for our community. Yet, the employees at CTS have not skipped a beat and have continued their generosity to ensure that children in our community have a memorable Christmas.

We are so incredibly grateful for our relationship with CTS and so are our families. Recognizing their company as the Organization of the Year is simply one way we can show them how thankful we are.

National Work Zone Safety Week is upon us. ​In 2021, 956 people died in work zones, according to the NHTSA FARS data. Also in 2021, 108 highway worker occupational fatalities occurred in road construction sites, based on BLS data. Let's not become a statistic. Honor the work zone and those in it, approach it slowly and with caution.
