Today’s Post-Session Legislative Luncheon at Timberlake Lodge Hotel gave our Chamber members and public partners the opportunity to hear directly from legislators representing our region about the 2026 legislative session, what was accomplished, what remains unfinished, and what issues will continue to impact northern Minnesota businesses and communities.
Thank you to Senator Steve Green, Senator Grant Hauschild, Senator Keri Heintzeman, Senator Rob Farnsworth, Representative Spencer Igo, and Representative Roger Skraba for taking the time to join us, share updates, and answer questions from our members.
Today’s conversation touched on many of the priorities and questions important to our region, including natural resource industries, environmental permitting, sulfate regulations, energy reliability, bonding and infrastructure, rural healthcare, housing, labor law changes, school funding, tax policy, and support for small businesses.
We also extend our appreciation to Congressman Pete Stauber, Senator Tina Smith, and Senator Amy Klobuchar for sending messages to be shared with attendees.
Direct access to elected officials is one of the important benefits provided to Chamber members. These conversations help ensure the priorities, concerns, and opportunities facing our region are heard and remain part of the larger discussion at the Capitol and beyond.
A special thank you to Minnesota Power an ALLETE Company, for sponsoring today’s luncheon and supporting this important conversation.
