DongJun (Robin) Kim came to NHA after he completed most of his training at Western Michigan University. He is a thorough & enthusiastic pilot who is ready to take his career to the next level! On July 13, 2026 we were happy to celebrate with him as he received his CFII rating! Congratulations Robin!

It was a weekend of exciting activity at the airport! Natalie Whitaker and Kaylee Trautmann launched the Goshen chapter of Women with Wings! Natalie is a current advanced student and Kaylee is a former NHA instructor. We're so excited to see how they are promoting aviation! NHA is always happy to celebrate those steps that bring our students closer to their goal of becoming a licensed pilot. On July 12, 2026 we got to celebrate Gavin Wipert's accomplishment when he soloed for the first time! Great job, Gavin! Keep up the good work!

We love connections with students and On Friday, 8/21/26 we had the privilege of reconnecting with one of our long time friends and aviators, Dr. Weldon Troyer. So many special things about this flight! Weldon has been a pilot for many years, he is 93 years old. Currently he resides at Waterford Crossing and through their "wish" program, Weldon said he'd love to fly again! Since he was part owner of N1905V, our Cessna 172, it was the perfect connection! Roger was contacted and quickly said yes to giving Weldon the yoke once again! After Weldon had retired, he used to come out on his birthday for many years and would fly 05V with Roger just for fun. We were delighted to get him into the air again! Weldon, you are always welcome at NHA!

Trace Roa is a name and a face you are probably familiar with if you are at the Goshen Airport very often. He has been a student at NHA as well as a line tech for the FBO for the past couple years. His smile is evident whenever you talk airplanes with him, but it got even bigger on July 8 when he passed his commercial check ride. Congrats Trace! We appreciate you!

Seth Lewis does double duty with NHA--he is a student working toward his light sport rating, but also a mechanic in Warsaw, part of the team keeping airplanes in good condition! On July 8, 2026 Seth took to the skies solo for the first time! Nice work, Seth!

Jonathan Wesco II has been a frequent flyer with NHA. Most recently he earned his Commercial rating on July 7, 2026. Congratulations Jonathan! Blue skies!

July started a busy month registering first solos for a lot of students! Blake Basil was first up on July 7, 2026 and is moving steadily on toward his next goal, a Private Pilot license. You'll be there soon Blake! Way to go!
