Layovers.
When picking out flights for an upcoming adventure, look at all the possible connection cities on all the routes offered through as many airlines as you can. Basically… look at every single option given to you.
While prices may be a bit higher on some, they may offer you a chance to visit somewhere you hadn’t really thought about before. When I was booking my trip to Eastern Africa last year I found a flight with a 32 hour layover in Qatar and instantly snatched it up! And I am so glad I did because I loved every minute of my time there!
Some airlines even offer up to a 1-7 day extended stay in certain cities at no additional cost to you (airline cost that is…) Example: When traveling on a transatlantic IcelandAir flight, you can add a stop in Iceland itself for up to 7 days with no additional airline costs to your ticket! Score!! Lots of airlines offer something similar, and there are many cities all over the globe that offer free city tours to people on extended layovers…
So to wrap this up… always look at every option you have when you are looking at flights. You never know what you could find!

Street photography… Before I left for this trip I got the new iPhone. I don’t know why, but I just couldn’t stop taking “random” photos with it! Now I’ve been an iPhone user for years, but the new camera system on it just blows me away! I think I ended up taking more photos with it than I did my real camera! Well, maybe not, but still!😂 Just thought I would share a couple of these random shots from the last two weeks!

Scenes from the Nile… There’s nothing quite like being somewhere that you’ve always heard and read about. From it being the longest river in the world at just over 4,100 miles long, to the stories in the Bible and so on. I cruised for 5 days exploring simply incredible sights along each mile. I’ll get to those places a little later, but I wanted to share some of my favorites that I took directly from the ship.

I have always loved history. Traveling allows me to walk in the footstep’s of those who have changed the world, built the early civilizations which molded our very existence, and shaped the beliefs of so many souls who have walked this earth. Egypt holds all of those to a degree that few other places can, and it was a dream come true to be able to experience over 3,000 miles of this breathtaking country. We’ll revisit often, but I wanted to share some favorites of where i stepped foot first, Cairo.

Hey everyone, I am back! Am so sorry about the little break in there, but life has finally settled down a bit and I am able to get back to business! One of the things I love most about going back through old photos, is you find new favorites all over again! I just happened to open my Italy folder last week so thought I would share some of the incredible city of Venice! I was visiting friends in Northern Italy and took a day trip here, which needless to say took my breath away the second I stepped off the train! Hope you enjoy these!
