FLORENCE - more of our most favorite European city 😍❤️🥰
I will say the last couple days of our trip (June 21&22) were some HOT!! It’s not Louisiana hot BUT there is no relief from the heat. That’s the biggest difference - everyone walks the streets and alleys with brick buildings surrounding them with the sun beating down on these stone/brick buildings and then most places may have fans if you’re lucky, much less ac. And IF they do it is not like American ac! It is meerly for air circulation. Thank the Good Lord our AirBNB had amazing American type ac because those last 2 days would have been much more miserable!!
Public Pool with a garden pub - yes please! Everyone that swims must wear a swimming cap, and that’s the case with most public pools in Europe. It’s in a beautiful, very large park.
Osteria Pastella - oh so yummy with fresh pasta and a cheese wheel!!! 🤤 Bonus pts too for serving us champagne as we waited in line to be seated 🥂 You MUST make a reservation or get there right when they open!
Mister Pizza - located in Piazza del Duomo seems like a touristy place and maybe it is but the pizza is delicious and the price doesn’t scream touristy! You can even get it to take away and eat it anywhere you want in the piazza too.
Sbrino - the BEST gelato place in Florence and was a block down the road from our AirBNB!! It is located in the Oltrano section of Florence and well worth the walk if you are staying in the city center; believe me, we tried LOTS of gelato 🤣🍦
Grand Hotel Minerva - Rooftop pool and restaurant with a view! We were hoping the kids could swim while we relaxed, but we quickly found out the pool is only for hotel guests during the day and then closes when outside guests are allowed up. The kids weren’t very happy 🥴
Babae - a great little restaurant that has a wine window and if not google Florence wine windows 😍 The breakfast is fabulous! It was right around the corner from our AirBNB too!
