In service to the modern commercial fleet, Gloucester Marine Railways dry-docks and performs repairs and maintenance for fishing boats, tugboats, ferries, excursion vessels, the schooner fleet, as well as smaller commercial and pleasure craft. With two marine railways and an 85 ton Travelift, we have the ability to address the needs of vessels of all sizes. Our highly skilled crew is very capable

and experienced with all vessel construction materials. Our signature service is a common sense approach to maintenance and repair needs. We are a full-service shipyard, conveniently located on Rocky Neck, a protected peninsula in Gloucester Harbor. This painting is deeply personal to me.

My family and so many good friends have worked in this place for generations, alongside many others whose lives, stories, and sacrifices are tied to these waters. Boats, sailboats, hard work, resilience… and legends like the *Phyllis A* all carry part of Gloucester’s heartbeat.

The Gloucester Marine Railways is more than a landmark. It’s a living piece of the fishing industry and maritime history that continues to inspire me as an artist.

There’s something powerful about painting a place that holds so much memory, grit, and beauty all at once.
