GCPS Transportation celebrates our amazing drivers, car drivers and bus assistants for National School Bus Safety Week. These dedicated individuals are up before the sun each day. They navigate through rain, sleet, snow, flooding and the heat of summer. They wipe noses, tie shoes, dry tears, and celebrate students who get stickers and pass tests. Often times you find them going through the aisles at local stores buying pencils and treats for their kids on the bus. Yes, each and everyone will refer to the students as their kids… because they care for them as they would their own. Team transportation members are a rare breed of professionals that have a heart for kids, the ability to multitask with 45 plus kiddos behind them. They know everyone’s name, they know who might need some extra attention, and they know that the safety of their children comes first. As the Director of Transportation I am humbled and grateful for the opportunity to work with such a wonderful group of individuals. They make education possible for every single student of Gloucester County. Thank you for the millions of safe miles and smiles Team.
