COLORADO: we are pleased to announce that the 2026 Ruehle Award for Advanced Ratings scholarship application window is now open!

The Colorado Chapter of the Ninety-Nines is offering a $5000 scholarship award to a woman pilot in Colorado who is pursuing an advanced flight rating. Two (2) scholarships will be awarded.

By popular request, Rocky Mountain Aero Group’s Build & Fly Summer Aviation Camp is now open to ages 10+ ✈️🙌

We heard from families with younger aviation enthusiasts who were eager to join, so we opened the door.

Because aviation is not about age. It’s about teamwork, curiosity, communication, problem-solving, and the willingness to learn.

This is not a sit-and-watch camp.

This is a hands-on aviation experience where students work in teams to build a large-scale flyable aircraft, learn how flight works, tackle engineering challenges, use flight simulators, meet aviation professionals, and experience aviation in a real airport environment.

The Aspen/Pitkin County Airport will be closed for maintenance and improvements from Thursday, April 23, 2026, at 9 a.m. through Thursday, May 21, 2026, at 7 p.m. During this time, Elk Lot parking will be unavailable due to necessary parking lot improvements. All vehicles must be removed from the Elk Lot before the closure begins. Vehicles remaining in the lot will be towed at the owner’s expense.

Free Aviation Ground School course for local high school students!

This is year two of our aviation partnership with Aspen Flight Academy we’ve expanded access for students from Aspen to Rifle and student tuition is fully grant-funded and FREE. It is a zero hour class and there is limited space so sign up now if you are interested, Wednesday evenings online and at simulator locations.
