Just because we’re closed to the public for the summer heat doesn’t mean the work stops! Over the past few weeks, our all-volunteer track crew has been hard at work replacing sections of track to create a smoother, more comfortable ride experience for everyone.

April 26, 2026: Our last ride day until October. It was windy, but great weather for a train ride before the summer heat. We had 3 Jr Engineer trainers with us today. Member Avery and our Jr Engineer School card stars Hunter & Wyatt. not only did they run Jr Engineer School today, that each got lots of seat time on the Chessie train. Fun seeing so many youngsters enjoy school. Watch this page for any special run days we'll have over the summer. -hank

Train rides this Sunday at Maricopa Live Steamers from 11AM-2PM. We are located at 22822 N 43rd AVE in Glendale AZ. Rides are free but donations are appreciated to keep the railroad running. This is our last Sunday of being open to the public until October due to the summer heat.

4/19/26 It's getting warm out, but never too much for a train ride. Today was the second to last ride day of the 2025-2026 season. We'll reopen on Sunday October 4th, 2026. Jr Engineer School trainer Avery was at the park teaching students how to operate a 1.5" scale diesel switcher loco on track 4. Our regular guests were here and put Chessie away for me in the barn. They can't make it next week, previous engagement. See photos for detials. Great job Jr Engineers! See you next Sunday for our last run day of spring. -hank

Train Rides this Sunday from 11AM-2PM at Maricopa Live Steamers in Glendale. We are located at 22822 N 43RD AVE in right across from the water park. Rides are free however donations are encouraged to keep the railroad maintained and running. All passengers must be able to walk to and board the train without assistance. All Aboard! 🚂

April 12, 2026: Hunter and Wyatt (our Jr Engineer School card crew) were at the park helping students become Jr Engineers. Kaleo turned 3 and had a big party at the park. He was able to attend Jr Engineer School and got to put a full passenger train away in the barn for us. See photo captions. -hank

April 12, 2026: Jr Engineer School trainers Hunter and Wyatt will be joining us today. Member Bobby has his daughter Avery's birthday party today and she wanted to have Jr Engineer School for her friends. It will be a great day and fabulous weather at the park today. Join us! -hank
