In just one week, local young athletes will have the opportunity to learn from former Major League Baseball players at the MLBPAA Legends for Youth Clinic—and there’s still time to register!

This FREE clinic is more than just baseball. It’s a chance for kids to build confidence, learn from those who played the game at the highest level, and create memories they’ll never forget.

One Day Only: A Special Guest Locomotive Arrives at Gettysburg Railway!

Today’s riders have the unique opportunity to experience something a little different.

For today only, Mississippi Central / Pioneer Railcorp Engine PREX 1605 will be pulling our excursions while our regular locomotive takes a brief break—giving guests the chance to experience a hardworking railroad veteran with decades of history behind it.

Having served railroads across the South, PREX 1605 has spent its career moving freight and serving communities, making it a rare sight here in Gettysburg. Whether you’re a railfan, photographer, history enthusiast, or simply joining us for a scenic ride, today’s excursions offer a unique chance to see this seasoned locomotive in action.

And here’s an exciting look ahead... PREX 1605 is planned to be fully restored this fall and become part of the Gettysburg Railway fleet, making today an early look at a locomotive that’s set to become part of our railroad’s future.

⚾ At Gettysburg Railway, we believe the strongest communities are built by investing in the next generation.

That’s why we’re proud to partner with the Major League Baseball Players Alumni Association to bring a FREE Legends for Youth Clinic to Gettysburg on Saturday, August 15.

Former Major League Baseball players will help young athletes ages 6–16 build their baseball skills while learning lessons that extend far beyond the game—teamwork, confidence, perseverance, and sportsmanship.

🇺🇸 A little surprise rolled through Gettysburg yesterday.

There was plenty of excitement outside the Gettysburg Railway depot as our friends at CSX passed by with one of their America250 locomotives. Cameras came out, railfans gathered, and visitors enjoyed this unexpected moment in the heart of historic Gettysburg.

In a town that holds such an important place in our nation’s history, it was another reminder of the role railroads have played in connecting communities, preserving history, and helping shape America’s story.
