Today was Poor Dorothy's annual examination by the US Coast Guard. Because I carry 6 passengers or less, this is a voluntary program. However, it shows my clients that I am concerned about safety and that I am in compliance with all required regulations. The Coast Guard is cracking down on illegal charters in order to protect passenger safety. If you charter elsewhere, look for the examination sticker. If it is not there, ask the captain to see his credentials. Remember, I am concerned for your safety!

Reluctantly I find that I must change my pricing structure. This is the first change in prices since 2022 and only the second change since I started in 2012. Effective May 1, 2026 the pricing for cruises will be as follows:
Weekends $175 for the first hour and $75 for each subsequent half hour. Weekdays are at the discounted rate of $150 for the first hour and $65 for each subsequent half hour.
ALL CRUISES BOOKED BEFORE MAY 1 FOR ANYTIME DURING THE 2026 SEASON WILL BE AT THE OLD PRICES!!! BOOK NOW!
Remember, returning customers always get a 10% discount. I thank you for cruising with me aboard Poor Dorothy.

Notice something missing? This morning I took "Home" to the boat ramp with the assistance of staff from Marina Jack. It was loaded on its trailer and will be towed back to Georgetown by Jeff from J and H Woodworking. Now to get "Poor Dorothy" ready for another exciting season of cruising the Sassafras!

Took a sort of busman's holiday today. My friend Marc, my grandson Isaac, and I went out fishing with a charter captain. We bottom fished a reef for a while and then trolled where we caught the King Mackerel. Looking forward to a fish dinner!

Was in the cockpit of "HOME" eating a cheese steak and he came flying by! Fyi, I found some good steak sandwiches. The steak shop uses ribeye steak and brings in rolls from Liscio's in south Philadelphia.

As promised for my Philadelphia and Eastern Shore friends, here are some pictures from today's Phillies vs. Blue Jays game in Clearwater, Florida. I was at an event sponsored by the Thomas Jefferson University Alumni Office. Notice my picture on the field! It was fun and I did get to see a majority of the starters play for several innings.
