Dining on the Disney Destiny was so enjoyable! Disney uses rotational dining where you get to experience a different dining room each night on a 4 night cruise. 1923 was our first night. You are assigned a table number and that number is consistent through the entire cruise. Your servers get to know you and know your preferences. You can request a table to fit your family size or you can share a table with other families.
On our second night we went to the specialty, adult dining, Palo. The view of the ocean and the sunset were perfect and sharing a great meal with our son and his wife was so enjoyable❤️ The kids went to kids club and had so much fun! I would highly recommend grabbing a reservation when your extras booking opens up! It sells out fast. They offer a pre-fix menu or you can order ala carte.
Don’t skip dessert! The chocolate lava cake was amazing!!
The third night was pirate night! This night we ate in the Marvel dining room. Again, the food and service were great and we loved seeing everyone dressed for the occasion! The night ended with fireworks at sea, we all enjoyed every minute!
Our last night dinner was at Prideland! It was a Lion King themed dinner with live entertainment. The show was great and so was the dinner!
Each dining room had a unique menu but had something for everyone. Portions were not big but you were welcome to order as many as you wanted. We ate dessert every night and even had ice cream on the deck in the evening!
The buffet, Marceline’s Market was perfect for breakfast and lunch. One thing I love about the buffet is that guests cannot serve themselves. The buffet has Cast Members serving which minimizes food contamination and the passing of germs on the serving utensils. There is something for everyone! They are very in tune with asking guests about food allergies and do their best to meet everyone’s needs.
Overall, our dining experience was great. If I compare the food to selections on other cruise ships, I would say that this is an area that Disney could improve. The presentation was great but the food quality could have been a little better. Believe me, we never went hungry and it would not change my mind about Disney cruising! If you are a foodie and have a high appreciation for fine dining, it might miss the mark, but as a mom and grand mother, I loved someone waiting on me and not having to cook!!
