Proper Posture When Playing the Piano
There is minimal physical exertion required to play the piano, but appropriate posture and warm-up exercises are necessary to avoid problems like carpal tunnel syndrome. Here is the proper posture to be observed when playing the piano:
- Sit up straight and your align head, shoulders, and hips.
- Rest your feet entirely on the floor.
- Align your elbow, wrist, and pinky finger.
- Play with the weight of your arm instead of your wrists or fingers.
- Bench height should be at a comfortable height to play with aligned elbows and wrists.
