We were visiting my cousin in town and asked him where to find the best fish and chips around. He recommended Skagway Fish Co. , and we’re glad he did.

There was a bit of a wait, but we grabbed a beer and relaxed while waiting for tables to clear. Our waiter was super friendly and attentive, and I really appreciated the decor throughout the restaurant. As a gal originally from Cape Cod, I especially loved the nautical theme!

Of course, I ordered the fish and chips, and it came out hot, fresh, and delicious. The batter was a little crispier than I’m used to, but I still thoroughly enjoyed the flaky, white fish. The guys in our group enjoyed their meals as well.

The ladies’ room was clean, which is always appreciated. Overall, I highly recommend this spot if you don’t mind a bit of a wait. For us, it was absolutely worth it.

I also want to mention that we were visiting on a cruise ship, and this restaurant was a very convenient walk to and from the port. If you’re in town for the day, it’s an easy and worthwhile stop!

We had 24 hours in town and wanted to check out a few local breweries. There was a decent amount of parking available, and plenty of street parking to help accommodate any overflow.

Unfortunately, they do not offer beer flights, so Colby created his own half-glass sampler, which did the trick. The brewery itself was pretty neat, with large beer barrels incorporated into the décor, including one that guests can actually sit in.

Their beer selection was on the smaller side, but we felt the prices were fair. I ordered the Blind Berry Cider, which had a pleasantly tart flavor, though it leaned toward the extra-sour side.

We thought this spot was great for Instagram photos and a worthwhile stop if you have some extra time while you’re in town. Overall, it was okay. I do wish we had known about the outdoor seating options beforehand, as we found the indoor seating area to be somewhat limited.

The glassware was pretty cool as well, with several different sizes available. The bathrooms were clean, and the staff was friendly and welcoming. We would definitely return if we find ourselves back in town again.

Colby chose this place, and it turned out to be a cute, quirky little spot. We really wanted to try the fish in Sitka, so we thought this would be the perfect place.

The views were absolutely beautiful, and the restaurant is located up a flight of stairs. We were seated quickly and didn’t have to wait too long for service.

They had quite a selection of beers and brews, and I loved the vintage style bar.

We ordered the calamari as an appetizer, and unfortunately, we felt the portion size was too much. I think the price could be lowered in exchange for a smaller serving because we felt bad wasting so much food.

My fish arrived warm and was served with hand-cut fries. The batter was a little different from anything we’ve tried before. It was good, but I think there may have been a bit too much pepper added. It wasn’t bad, just a different flavor profile, so keep that in mind.

Overall, if you’re looking for a place with beautiful views, we would recommend it. I ultimately decided on a 4star rating rather than a 3star rating because the scenery really added to our day in Sitka.

We had our cruise port change at the last minute, and we didn’t want to deal with the tunnel nightmare, so we decided to grab a bite to eat while everyone cleared out. Wild Catch Café did not disappoint!

I ordered a bacon, egg, and cheese breakfast sandwich, and wowzers! It was so big and delicious that I couldn’t even finish the whole thing. I also got a coffee, which was delicious and clearly brewed with love.

The staff was super friendly, and they even helped my hubby by making his sandwich with egg whites only because the yolk makes him sick. The prices were fair, especially considering you’re at a cruise port.

They have a really cute little dining area, and there are bathrooms available as well. If you’re in the area, I definitely think this place is a must visit!

We arrived at the Alaska Aviation Museum, located right next to the water, with seaplanes constantly coming and going.

The museum itself is a decent size, and we really enjoyed seeing so many different types of aircraft. One of the coolest parts was being able to walk inside one of the planes.

The staff was extremely friendly, and the gentlemen restoring planes in the side building were a hoot. One of them took the time to explain how they are bringing these historic aircraft back to life using donations, which we thought was really neat. It’s wonderful to see these planes preserved rather than discarded.

The museum has a small gift shop, but they do not sell food or beverages.

The location is fantastic because there is constant seaplane activity, and visitors can climb up to the tower for beautiful views of the surrounding area.

Overall, we highly recommend this attraction, especially for families with kiddos who love planes. It was a fun and unique experience, and we would definitely visit again!

We absolutely loved visiting Dolly’s House Museum in Ketchikan, Alaska. Not only was it fascinating to learn about Dolly herself, but meeting the incredible women who now run the house was one of the highlights of our visit. Their passion, knowledge, and energy are absolutely amazing and really bring the history to life.

Walking through the house feels like stepping into a different era. It’s truly a pause in time, preserving a glimpse of when things were built, crafted, and cared for with remarkable attention to detail. Every room tells a story.

What surprised us most was learning about Dolly Arthur’s impact on Ketchikan. Despite being judged by many during her lifetime because of her profession, she played a significant role in preserving Creek Street. When the city considered demolishing much of the historic district, Dolly’s House remained, helping spark interest in preserving the area’s unique history and character. Today, Creek Street is one of Ketchikan’s most beloved attractions, and it’s amazing to think that one woman had such an important role in protecting a piece of the town’s heritage.

We were genuinely amazed by the lasting impact Dolly had on the preservation of Creek Street and the history of Ketchikan. It’s a powerful reminder that people are often far more than the labels society places on them.

We highly recommend visiting! The tour is fairly quick, but we absolutely loved every minute of it. Just keep in mind that the house discusses adult themes and the history of a former brothel, so this may be one to skip with younger kiddos.

The line was pretty long when we arrived to Alaska Fish House, and we ended up waiting in the rain for about 30 minutes. However, with cruise ships in port, that was to be expected, and the line moved surprisingly fast.

Once inside, you place your order at the counter and are seated afterward. One thing to note: if you’re a smaller party and the restaurant is busy, you may be seated with other guests. It felt a little unusual at first, but it wasn’t a big deal.

My husband ordered the Dungeness crab, and I went with the Alaska Sampler, which features three different types of fish served fish-and-chips style. The fries are their signature mesquite-seasoned fries, and honestly, they worked perfectly with the seafood.

As someone currently working on a YouTube video about our Alaska cruise experience, I can honestly say this was some of the best fish and chips I had during our trip. My husband also loved his crab and said the meat was incredibly fresh, tender, and flavorful.

They don’t sell alcohol at the ordering counter, but once you’re seated, there’s a small bar in the back where you can purchase drinks. We tried the Double Shovel Appalanche Cider and absolutely loved it.

Overall, aside from the communal seating, we really enjoyed our experience. I especially appreciated their unique take on fish and chips. Being originally from Cape Cod, I take my seafood pretty seriously, and this place definitely delivered!

Upon stepping off the cruise ship, we were in desperate need of some caffeine, and Glacial Coffeehouse was exactly what we were looking for. Conveniently located right in downtown, it was easy to find and the perfect stop before heading out on our tour.

Although it was quite busy, the line moved quickly and efficiently. The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming, which made for a great first impression. Our coffee was hot, fresh, and absolutely delicious. The shop itself was very clean and inviting, and the fresh baked goods on display looked amazing.

If you’re visiting the area and need a quick breakfast, a great cup of coffee, or a stop before exploring town, we highly recommend checking this place out!
