A few reminders:

· The detour will route Jimmy Daniell Road traffic along Atlanta Highway and Mars Hill Road to access SR 316 and US 78

Georgia, remember to Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over!

From August 19 through September 7, we’re partnering with the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety and law enforcement agencies across Georgia to continue supporting the statewide Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over campaign this summer season.

Impaired driving puts everyone at risk. As enforcement efforts increase statewide, make the safe choice before you get behind the wheel: plan ahead, designate a sober driver, or use a rideshare service.

Let’s work together to keep Georgia’s roads safe. Drive sober.

"Heads up, Oconee County drivers!

Crews will implement overnight lane closures and traffic pacing Thursday, August 13, and Friday, August 14, from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. on SR 316 at Jimmy Daniell Road for bridge beam setting activities. Scheduled activities include one, right lane closed on SR 316 eastbound and westbound at Jimmy Daniell Road, with intermittent traffic pacing.

Additional closures and traffic impacts may be necessary throughout the weekend as construction activities continue.

This work is part of ongoing bridge construction for the new SR 316 at Jimmy Daniell Road Bridge, which will remove the existing at-grade crossing at SR 8/SR 316/US 29 and Jimmy Daniell Road.
