The U.S. Department of Transportation has deferred a decision on a $647-million grant that would help  Caltrain electrify a section of track between San Jose and San Francisco, a project crucial to California’s struggling high-speed rail project.

As Japan, China and European nations expand their high-speed rail networks exponentially, the U.S. can’t seem to get its act together with high-speed rail. A new survey by the transportation search engine GoEuro ranks the U.S. a dismal 19th out of 20 nations in terms of its high speed rail service, behind such countries as Poland and Turkey.

Bullet trains travel at speeds up to 160 miles per hour, connecting Tokyo with Japan's northern island by high speed rail for the first time.

Could High Speed Trains offer Millennials and Hipsters a better way to get to school, visit the parents for the holidays, or play gigs in San Francisco and L.A.? Perhaps, but this won't be cheap.

It is absurd for a state that prides itself on leadership and innovation to have such a heavy and vocal opposition to something that embodies those very principles – high-speed rail.

Small but noticeable first steps towards High Speed Rail in California.

Ready or not here it comes. Wrecking balls will start swinging early next year on projects connected to High Speed rail, and it could impact how you get
