Vulnerable (Untraditional) Small Business Saturday Post -

Bookings have been slower for me lately (summer as a teacher + I'm busy supporting my husband with his student ministry things so sometimes people feel that they are bugging me to reach out)..

BUT, my commission statement came in this morning and I began highlighting my paid out commission... 🖌️

I noticed 2 things:

1. Each and every family's name is someone who trusted me with their travel plans and even though some of them go back to April trips - I was privileged to be asked to help with them. 🥹

2. I noticed that I've been consistently getting statements monthly... my first two years I only had 6 out of 24 paid out months. We all start somewhere! & somewhere along the way, I've gone from being surprised to get a statement to excited when I can *pretty much* count on one every month. 🥳

So if you are like me and the bookings are slower than you like (literally I have ZERO trips in October of this year...) slow down to NOTICE the small wins that are actually really big wins and are worth celebrating. 🙌

Like going from many $0-8 months to commission with a comma months.... mind blowing! 🤯

I began TM in January 2023... so like starting any small business- it takes time! I finally hit Top Producer but the majority of my bookings are truly tiny (see pic)... 😆

& they may not seem like much on their own but they culminate to be truly a BLESSING to our FAMILY and they serve as a reminder that people believe in & support me as I chase this dream!! 🥹

So I felt led to share my encouragement this morning in case you are working on building something and might feel a little down or behind... Give yourself grace and allow yourself to celebrate the little things- whatever that looks like for you. To quote my husband, "you replicate what you celebrate" so keep on celebrating!! 🎉💃

& let that put fresh air back in your sales to keep going! 💨⛵️

& most importantly... to every single client, friend, family member, neighbor who has supported me and reached out for my help to plan any aspect of your trip (cruise, hotel, rental car, theme park tickets, etc) - THANK YOU!! Small Business Saturday - Honest Travel Agent Who Cares

It's true- AI can generate a LONG LIST of vacation destinations in the blink of an eye... 🌏

But before you know it you have 25 tabs open and have spent 4 hours mulling over the long list just to feel even further from knowing where to go than when you began. 😫

And when it comes to actually nailing down THE ONE BEST FIT for you and your family to commit your money to?... that's where AI truly breaks down. 😅

And if you challenge AI with something like "I heard ___ is actually not worth the money..." AI will suddenly AGREE and CHANGE its suggestions because IT is just an algorithm evaluating search engine results and doesn't have the capacity to *care* or *know* or *be honest* with you. 🤦‍♀️

Can you REALLY trust AI with such an important decision? 👀

The hardest part of travel planning is knowing which options from a long AI generated list ACTUALLY FITS YOU- your unique travel vibe and your specific family's vacation dreams. 🤩📍🥳

AI truly doesn't *know* and can’t actually be *honest* with you. AI doesn’t spend money to go to these places and gain first hand experiences to share, take PTO to attend site inspections, grow their learning earning certifications/trainings, and spend time building BDM personal relationships with the cruise lines and resorts. 🤝&🧠
