On Saturday, August 29, Freeport Self Storage became much more than a storage facility, it became a gathering place for our community.

We hosted a free professional wrestling event, but what stood out most were the families spending the afternoon together, children cheering at ringside, neighbors catching up, and local businesses and volunteers stepping forward to help.

As a family-owned business serving Freeport since 1997, we are incredibly grateful to everyone who attended and to everyone who contributed their time, food, services, and energy. This event belonged to the entire community.

“What’s not to like”

Thanks to Kenny for the support!

We closed the facility on August 29 and put a wrestling ring in the parking lot! About 300 neighbors came out for Create A Pro Wrestling Academy live pro wrestling, autographs with Brian Myers, and the big star of the show, the Freeport Fire Dept raising the flag for our national anthem.

The day raised money for Tunnel To Towers Foundation a first class organization providing homes to veterans and first responders. Our fundraising is open until 9/11/26. Link in bio!

yelplongisland community manager, Jared worked hard, pulling together so many food options for the day including FAT BOY’S BURRITO CO. 🌯🍲🥗🌮🥑Est. 2017 GrillMark YAAAS TEA Secret Thai Kitchen Na Tart Cafe MrSoftee Long Island. So many tasty treats for all to enjoy!

We have always wanted to do a fun event for the community and are so happy this all came together.

Saturday, August 29, 2026. About 300 neighbors came out for free live pro wrestling provide by Create A Pro Wrestling Academy and a free autograph signing with TNA Tag Team Champion Brian Myers.

The day was about giving back to the community while raising money for the Tunnel to Towers Foundation. Tunnel to Towers provides mortgage-free homes to the families of fallen first responders and military, builds custom smart homes for catastrophically injured veterans, and works to end veteran homelessness — all honoring the legacy of FDNY firefighter Stephen Siller. With the 25th anniversary of 9/11 two weeks out, the timing mattered to us. The Freeport Fire Department raised the flag for our National Anthem just before the bell rang on the first match.

There's a wrestling ring going up in our parking lot on Saturday.

Create A Pro Wrestling Academy brings a full card to 73 E Merrick Road on Saturday, August 29. Doors at 1:00. TNA Tag Team Champion Brian Myers signs autographs, free, from 1:00 to 2:30. Bell time 2:30. The Freeport Fire Department raises the flag for the National Anthem before the first match.

No admission, no tickets, all ages. No alcohol. Street parking.
