This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of north central
Illinois...northwest Illinois...west central Illinois...east
central Iowa...northeast Iowa...southeast Iowa and northeast
Missouri.
DAY ONE...THIS AFTERNOON AND TONIGHT

An isolated strong storms is possible north of Highway 20 this
afternoon and evening. Lightning and brief downpours are the
primary risks.
DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...SATURDAY THROUGH THURSDAY

Dangerous heat continues Saturday, with afternoon peak heat
indices in the 100 to 110 degree range. Isolated storms are
possible Saturday afternoon and evening, with the primary risks
lightning and brief downpours.

Heat and humidity will surge back into the area Tuesday and
Wednesday with heat indices approaching 100.

..HEAT ADVISORY NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 PM CDT FRIDAY...

* WHAT...Heat index values of 100 to 105.

* WHERE...Portions of northwest Illinois and east central and
northeast Iowa.

* WHEN...Until 7 PM CDT Friday.

* IMPACTS...Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat
illnesses.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Thunderstorms and storm outflow may interrupt
the heat at times.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of
the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.

Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose
fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning
or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and
heat stroke.

To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety and
Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in
shaded or air conditioned environments. Anyone overcome by heat
should be moved to a cool and shaded location. Heat stroke is an
emergency! Call 9 1 1.

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of north central
Illinois...northwest Illinois...west central Illinois...east
central Iowa...northeast Iowa...southeast Iowa and northeast
Missouri.
DAY ONE...THIS AFTERNOON AND TONIGHT

Hot and humid conditions will continue across the area into the
evening with heat indices of over a 100 degrees. Little relief is
expected at night. A Heat Advisory is now in effect for the entire
Outlook Area.

Thunderstorms will be possible tonight, mainly north of the
Highway 30 corridor. The Storm Prediction Center has a Marginal,
level 1 out of 5, Risk of severe storms for areas along and north
of the Highway 20 corridor. Damaging winds will be the primary
risk.
DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...WEDNESDAY THROUGH MONDAY

Heat and humidity will continue through the work week and
potentially into the weekend. Peak heat indices of 95 to 105 are
possible. A Heat Advisory continues through Thursday for the
entire Outlook Area.

A near daily risk of thunderstorms will be possible north of
Interstate 80. If storms can make it down into the area late
Thursday and Thursday night, some of them may be severe with
damaging winds.

The National Weather Service in the Quad Cities has issued a

* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for...
Southeastern Jo Daviess County in northwestern Illinois...
Northwestern Carroll County in northwestern Illinois...

Southwestern Stephenson County in northwestern Illinois...

* Until 715 PM CDT.

* At 615 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located over Massbach, or
15 miles northwest of Mount Carroll, moving southeast at 15 mph.

HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage
to roofs, siding, and trees.

* Locations impacted include...
Mount Carroll, Savanna, Stockton, Hanover, Elizabeth, Woodbine,
Massbach, Loran, Mississippi Palisades State Park, Whitton, North
Hanover, Wacker, Elizabeth Fairgrounds, Center Hill, Willow,
Stockton Airport, Elmoville, Camp Far Horizons, and Canyon Camp.

This also includes Mississippi Palisades State Park.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
sturdy building.

Torrential rainfall is occurring with this storm, and may lead to
flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
