A board certified primary care physician working in an academic multi-specialty care center in Saginaw, Michigan, he is also an adjunct professor at Western Michigan University College of Aviation, senior flight surgeon at the Air Force's 45th Space Wing, and a member of the Experimental Aircraft Association's Aeromedical Advisory Council. Dr. Phillips is a flight surgeon for Air Docs. A board certified otolaryngologist and otolaryngic allergist in Indianapolis, he is also senior flight surgeon and chief of occupational medicine for the U.S. Air Force Reserves at Grissom ARB, former senior flight surgeon for NASA's Space Shuttle rescue team, and the team physician/reserve deputy for his local Sheriff's Office SWAT team.
